Know Bishop B. E. McCurdy, the Founder and Pastor of Revival Temple
With a dedicated and committed life, Bishop B. E. McCurdy has cultivated a community of believers that span the United States and continues to work tirelessly for the furtherance of the kingdom of God. The call came at the tender age of sixteen when most teenagers are concerned with relationships, looks, sports, and other entertainment. Although he initially had reservations, he submitted to the voice of the Lord, according to Jeremiah 1:4-10. Since his calling to preach the Gospel by the anointing of the Holy Ghost, he has never wavered and has kept a strong zest to communicate sacred scripture by precept and example. Upon graduating from Western High School with high honors, Elder McCurdy chose to attend Arizona State University from a list of Ivy League offers such as Princeton and Stanford, to name a few. During his tenure at Arizona State, God used him mightily to the saving of many souls. He became Youth Pastor of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, pastored by the late Bishop Felton King. The youth department grew into one of the largest in the state of Arizona.
After his studies at Arizona State and now married, he was prompted by the Lord to move back to Las Vegas and was blessed to become a Father. He continued his studies, receiving a bachelor of theology from Beaumont School of Religion, a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a host of certificates of achievements for religious and community services. Being a noted artist, Bishop McCurdy has won several top awards in local art shows, most notably at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has exhibited at Macy's Home Store, Clark County Community College (Cheyenne Campus), and Allied Art Gallery. Bishop McCurdy has been afforded many opportunities to further his art career but declined to advance his secular career to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Never one to sit and talk about a problem or ignore a need, Bishop McCurdy developed many ministries, including a maximum-security prison ministry, convalescent ministry, minimum security, and a youth ministry at the Spring Mountain Youth Camp on Mount Charleston. This was the beginning of Revival Temple Mission, which became Revival Temple. Although he has been criticized and even demonized publicly for his faithfulness and commitment to the old rudiment teachings, he stands firm on his most holy beliefs. Nothing can stop his march to proclaim the Gospel, not even being victimized through lies and the hypocrisy of those that proclaim brotherhood.
At Revival Temple, we continue to seek the Azusa experience in every service. We are subject to the move of the Holy Ghost; therefore, every service is dictated by the Spirit of God. We call ourselves the "Revival Temple" because a revival can break out at any time. You can always hear Bishop McCurdy exclaim to the parishioners and those who come to fellowship these words, "Do not expect service to operate the same, but expect and anticipate a blessing along with a unique experience every time you enter our east gates." Honorable, incorruptible, rectitude, righteous, right-minded scrupulosity, and uprightness - these adjectives describe the character of the man we affectionately call 'Father'.
